    The gite is situated in the small village of La Fayolle, which means in dialect  "the village at the top of the mountain."

    Perched on the mountain above the village of Chamalières sur Loire, La Fayolle counts twenty houses. It is surrounded by woods, even though there is a nice view on the Loire valley. The village is quiet, and the neighbourhood is nice.

    This stone house has been completely renovated  last year, so everything inside is new. It can accommodate up to 5 people.

    It has a sunny terrace with garden furniture, and a barbecue.

    Large living room of 30 m² on the ground floor with a kitchen area;  a sofa (convertible for 2 people), TV, and a wood stove.

    Upstairs (30 m² also):

    -        a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed

    -        bathroom with shower

    -       WC, washing machine

    Heating: electrical heaters and a wood stove (wood is provided)

     

    Services: bed-linen and baby’s equipment on request.

     

    Surroundings :

    Chamalières is 4km away. It has 3 restaurants, a news agent and a baker. It also has a Church and a Priory from the Xth century. There is a nice walk along the Loire river. Fishing is also possible, and further there is a horse riding school.

    Retournac is 10 min drive. It has a small supermarket, a nice summer swimming pool along the Loire river (with 3 pools), the Lace Museum, a market every Wednesday morning and all kind of small shops.

    20min drive is Yssingeaux with its small old centre, a big market on Thursday mornings in summer.

    Le Puy en Velay is 35 min drive http://www.ot-lepuyenvelay.fr  . Departure point of the route to Santiago de Compostella  the city has a beautiful  Cathedral and an old center worth to visit. And also the famous Virgin Statue perched on the Rocher Corneille,  the Saint Michel church on the opposite rock, many festivals in summer, fine restaurants, pubs, many shops...

    This region of France offers beautiful sightseeing,  with volcanoes, small rivers, woods, and many outdoor activities can be practice.http://www.respirando.fr
